Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality as well as a former teacher in the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark sparkling blonde locks, and her bubbly up appearance, offers simple techniques that anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell was employed at some of the most prestigious New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and geography. In addition, she appeared on Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her following graduation with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was impossible to study or learn enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian culture and cuisine during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children facing challenges. Also, she's a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador in which she promotes the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the country in her role as a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate having the opportunity to impart her enthusiasm to other people.
